This story seems... odd. It contradicts a lot of things from Starlin's original run (Death of mother was different, also destruction of Titan). Especially weird is why they try to picture young Thanos as innocent, but born to be evil. It just doesn't work. The characterization of Thanos and his relationship to Lady Death is also very different, compared to Starlin's run. The story just doesn't work for me, all seems forced an flat. But, what made me really angry, was the ending: Thanos would not do that. Not at this moment of his life.2 stars because the art is partially very good. Although, Thanos looks so wrong. What is up with his armor and his proportions? If someone wants to read great Thanos stories: "Avengers vs. Thanos", "Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos (including Thanos Quest)", "Infinity Gauntlet", "Marvels: The End", and "Thanos - Redempetion" are all much better suited to give an insight in this interesting character.

Strong and solid book by Jason Aaron and quite a surprise in quality from Simone Bianchi. I typically hate his art style but I thought it worked perfectly with this character and the dark turns taken throughout the story.Aaron weaves a great origin tale to the Mad Titan just in time for Infinity and his brief cameo appearance in the Avengers film. This book introduces us to Thanos at his birth and shows how his villainy evolved from his sociopathic pre-teen years to how he became the genocidal maniac courting Death of today.

The book is nice but the quality of the book is bad. It looks heavily used when it should be brand new. The corners are busted like it was dropped on all four corners before shipped. This is a gift for a friend also, so I'm bummed about the condition.

Take a pinch of bates motel and a cup of star wars, put it in a marvel blender and you have a thanos origins comic. If that sounds interesting check this book out.

Good story. Art was a little too polished for my taste but well done. I wanted the back-story of Thanos, so I got this one. It didn't really let me in to any knew revelations as to the character, but was a fun read none the less.

A long, somewhat boring origins tale. It could have been done in about a quarter of the pages and it might have been interesting. Not recommended, unless you are really a hard core fan.
