Rescuing Emily (Delta Force Heroes Book 2) (English Edition) Reviews
Eine wunderbar beschriebene Mischung aus Liebesgeschichte und Krimi. Sudan Stoker hat mich die Welt um mich herum vergessen lassen und mich total in ihren Bann gezogen.
I wish I had paid attention to the one star reviews before buying.Lesson: if someone bothers to give a book a one star review it means that the book made them angry enough to warn others.I have read quite a few of her books and enjoyed them so I didn't bother to read any reviews before buying. Big mistake. The other negative reviews are all correct and I agree with them and have more to add. The heroine is incredibly stupid and starves herself rather than confront her landlord. Also it was in such embarrassingly bad taste the WAY that this author wrote about the heroine and the hero's sexual fantasies and THEN reveals them? It was painful to read and so frustrating that I stopped reading the novel and started reading the reviews. Thankfully other people felt as disappointed as me about the standard of writing in this book.
I guess there are spoilers in here...not that it matters. The female, who is TSTL, allows herself to be extorted even though she does not have money to feed her child or herself. Does she say anything?? No...they will just starve. Then the whole adoption scene....seriously? They are not married, but the judge is going to award him joint custody? On what grounds? Then the whole corny conversation with Annie and the judge...uh huh, sure. Oh and let’s not forget the “rent a sniper” thread. Like I said, so bad, it is insulting. Sorry I paid for it.
Susan Stoker does it again. Rescuing Emily (Delta Force Heroes Book 2) is another amazing story and book. There are so many things to love about this book. There is Fletch and his hot self. Emily and her love and devotion to her daughter as well as how terrific she and Fletch are together. Of course there is the scene stealing adorable six year old going on thirty year old daughter Annie. Put the three of them together and they are such a beautiful family. Add in the members of Delta and Rayne and Mary and this was fabulous. There is a bit of angst which just about broke my heart, but Susan never lets me down so I pushed through. There was then more angst, but it was at that point I knew it would be okay, but as always it still was so interesting to see how it would unfold. I will also say that one of my favorite parts of this book was Annie and her interactions with the Delta team. I loved how she and Fletch were together, but I also loved how the guys fell completely in love with Annie. I will add without spoiling the specifics that her interactions with Truck were unforgettable. The bottom line is that if you love Susan Stoker's writing then you know you have to get this book. If you have never read her work then this is a great book to start with to read because you will love it. It is a standalone, but interconnected with the first book in this series. If you have never read her work I HIGHLY SUGGEST AND RECOMMEND that if you are able that you at least read the first book in the Delta Force Heroes series as it is such a wonderful book. If you are also able to read all of her books in her SEAL of Protection Series and Badge of Honor Texas Heroes Series because they are beyond excellent. For now you will be happy if you are just able to read Rescuing Emily. I read it without being able to put it down and I think you will feel the same.
This story was awesome! I think Annie is the new star of the series.Part sweet, part heartbreaking, part intrigue, and part action - this book has something for every taste. For those looking for a hard core Spec Ops story - look elsewhere. The story really shows how far a mother will go to protect and provide for her child. Emily is such an inspiring person and did such a fantastic job raising her daughter. Fletch showed how caring he could be in the beginning of the story and then showed how dimwitted he could be in the middle of the story and then once the cross purposes were cleared up, Fletch proved he could be the perfect match for Emily and Annie.I love the way the author puts these stories together. Alpha males, strong females that need a little help once and a while, and friends that are as close or closer than brothers make for a story that will not let you put it down.Grab any of Susan Stoker's books and be absorbed into an awesome tale.
Rescuing Emily was a guilty little romance read that has all the elements that leave you satisfied with a gorgeous happy ever after. I have not read any of the other in this series, it is standalone and easy to follow. You meet a group of strong alpha men who have hearts of gold. This story flowed well and held my interest in that I finished it in a couple of days.My favourite character was Annie, wow she was simply beautiful and gave such light to this story. For a young child, she was front and center in building the romance journey for her mother and was such an integral part of melting Fletch’s resolve. The chapter when Annie seeks Fletch for help when her mother was sick made tears well in my eyes and my heart hurt. What a strong and and resilient character and a testament to the way Emily raised her.Emily has had such a hard start in life and I immediately loved the break she was given by Fletch. This story is told over many months so the build-up of the relationship is realistic. Emily & Fletch have incredible heat and passion and their transformation into a family with Annie is just heartwarming. This story will give you all the feels of love and new beginnings. The action and drama towards the end gives you some suspense and just reaffirms the Delta Force family. Annie’s declaration for Fletch at the end will make your smile and feel so happy.
